LaserVietnamese in Unicode for Windows
LaserVietnamese in Unicode for Windows
LaserVietnamese in Unicode for Windows includes seven keyboard layouts that provide four-characters-per-key input in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2000, and NT4. There are two keyboards optimized for Vietnamese (one also supports Jarai/Rhade); three keyboards optimized for Jarai/Rhade (one also supports Vietnamese); and two keyboards that support English and the other supported Roman-based languages.
Windows System Requirements:
Operating Systems
Requires Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2000, or NT4.
Applications
Requires any Unicode-compatible application, such as Microsoft Word 2013, 2010, 2007, 2003, 2002, 2000, or 97, InDesign CS, QuarkXPress 7.0, LibreOffice, or OpenOffice. (Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 is not compatible.)
Two of the keyboards (one for Jarai-Rhade and one for English and other supported Latin-languages) require Microsoft Word 2013, 2010, 2007, Word 2003, or InDesign CS4, since the keyboards make use of OpenType layout features built into the fonts. Users who do not own these applications, or who must share documents with those who do not, may use two alternate deadkey keyboards that fully support Jarai-Rhade and Latin languages, using any Unicode-compatible application.
QuarkXPress 8.02 supports the Jarai-Rhade keyboard OpenType keyboard, but does not support the English OpenType keyboard. For Latin languages Quark users will use the English deadkey keyboard.
Older, non-Unicode applications such as WordPerfect (tested through version 12), Quark XPress (through 6.5), FrameMaker, and PageMaker are not Unicode-compatible.
Only four keyboards are available in Windows NT 4, since NT does not support either the Windows Supplemental Language Support or the OpenType layout features required by the other three keyboards.
Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 is not compatible with LaserVietnamese in Unicode for Windows. All text is changed to the Arial font, whether typed with the keyboard, input using Insert Symbol, or pasted from Word using the Windows clipboard. PowerPoint users should type their text in Word or another Unicode-compatible application, and save the text as a graphic for import into PowerPoint. Users can also use WordArt to create their text. To do this in PowerPoint go to Insert, Picture, WordArt, and type your text, formatting it as desired. Alternatively, users can type directly into PowerPoint using our non-Unicode LaserVietnamese fonts. (Earlier versions of PowerPoint have not been tested for compatibility.)

The non-Unicode LaserVietnamese fonts are not interchangeable with LaserVietnamese in Unicode. Both Unicode and non-Unicode fonts, including Unicode and non-Unicode versions of LaserVietnamese, may be installed on your system (since they have different file and font names) and may even be used in the same files. They are not, however, interchangeable.

Here's what others are saying about LaserVietnamese in Unicode:
"I want to compliment Linguist's Software on its Installation Manual and User's Manual. They are by far the best written and the easiest to understand of any software manuals I've seen in over 10 years."
