Are You Ready To Move To Unicode-Encoded Vietnamese Fonts? Now You Can Easily Convert Your ASCII-Encoded LaserVietnamese® Files To Our Unicode-Encoded LaserVietnamese In Unicode Fonts With The LaserVietnamese Converter.

LaserVietnamese Converter will allow you to convert text typed with Linguist's Software LaserVietnamese (ASCII-encoded) fonts to the new Unicode-encoded fonts in LaserVietnamese in Unicode. The converter is a series of macros embedded in a Microsoft Word file. You simply copy the appropriate macro(s) into each of your Word files that contain LaserVietnamese text and run the macro(s) to convert the text to the Unicode-encoded values of the LaserVietnamese in Unicode fonts. The macros do not affect any other text in your files except the LaserVietnamese text, allowing you to retain your file's original formatting. The LaserVietnamese Converter makes a daunting task simple.

Complete instructions are included in the LaserVietnamese Converter User's Manual. The product is available for Windows and Macintosh.

LaserVietnamese Converter for Windows

LaserVietnamese Converter for Windows includes macros to convert LaserVietnamese (ASCII-encoded) text to LaserVietnamese in Unicode (Unicode-encoded) fonts. For example, you can convert all the VinaRoman text in a Word document to VinaRomanU with a single click.

System Requirements:

bullet

Operating System - The LaserVietnamese Converter requires Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, NT 4.0, Me, 98, or 95. But note that LaserVietnamese in Unicode (the fonts to which you are converting the files) requires Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, or NT 4.0 for keyboard support. So even though you may run the Converter in earlier versions of Windows you will need the later versions of Windows to work with the converted files. (See LaserVietnamese in Unicode for Windows for details.)

bullet

Applications - Requires Microsoft Word 2010, 2007, 2003, 2002 (XP), 2000, or 97. The files you are going to convert must be Word for Windows files, since the macros are Word macros embedded in a Word file.

bullet

Fonts - Requires one or more of the LaserVietnamese (ASCII-encoded) fonts from Linguist's Software and the corresponding Unicode-encoded font from the LaserVietnamese in Unicode for Windows product. Note you must install both the ASCII-encoded (LaserVietnamese) font(s) that you used to type your file(s) and the corresponding Unicode-encoded (LaserVietnameseU) fonts to which you are converting the files.

bullet

The LaserVietnamese ASCII-encoded fonts used in your documents must be version 5.0 (dated August 5, 1997) or newer to be successfully converted. If your fonts are older than version 5.0 you must first update LaserVietnamese and convert your documents to the new version of the ASCII-encoded fonts following instructions in the Troubleshooting Manual. Then the LaserVietnamese Converter can be used to convert your documents to the Unicode-encoded version of LaserVietnamese. How do I find the version number?

bullet

All documentation is in Adobe Acrobat PDF format, so Adobe Reader must be installed on your computer. If you do not already have it installed, you can download Adobe Reader free from the Adobe web site.

LaserVietnamese Converter for Macintosh

LaserVietnamese Converter for Macintosh includes macros to convert LaserVietnamese (ASCII-encoded) text to LaserVietnamese in Unicode (Unicode-encoded) fonts. For example, you can convert all the VinaRoman text in a Word document to VinaRomanU with a single click.

System Requirements:

bullet

Applications - Requires Microsoft Word 2004 or 2011 to convert files to LaserVietnamese in Unicode fonts. The files you are going to convert must be Word for Macintosh files, since the macros are Word macros embedded in a Word file. Word 2008 does not support Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macros and therefore will not work. You must have Word 2004 or 2011. (Microsoft left VBA out of Word 2008.) See LaserVietnamese in Unicode for Macintosh to be sure you understand the System Requirements for the Unicode-encoded fonts.

bullet

Fonts - You must install both the ASCII-encoded font used in your files and the Unicode-encoded fonts to which you are converting the files.
