TransIndic Transliterator provides professional-quality, transliteration fonts in TrueType® and Type 1 (PostScript® file) format for typing transliterated Indic (Indian) text, plus many Western European Latin-based languages. The font is available in six typestyles (Times®-, Helvetica®-, condensed Helvetica®-, Palatino®-, Garamond-, and Chancery-styles) all in plain, bold, italic and bold-italic (except Chancery is plain only). Samples of each typestyle are below.

TrueType® and Type-1 fonts available in six typestyles (Times®-, Helvetica®-, condensed Helvetica®-, Palatino®-, Garamond-, and Chancery-styles) all in plain, bold, italic and bold-italic (except Chancery is plain only), containing all the characters and diacritics necessary to type transliterated Indian (Indic) languages.

The fonts install into Microsoft® Windows XP, 2000, NT, Me, 98, or 95 and work with all Windows XP-, 2000-, NT-, Me-, 98-, and 95-compatible applications that allow the user to select fonts from a font menu. (A custom version compatible with Windows 3.1 is available by request.) The Type 1 fonts require Adobe Type Manager® in Windows Me/98/95. The product includes a Setup Manual, a User's Manual, keyboard layout chart(s), and Character Code Tables showing every character in the font(s). (All documentation is in PDF format, and requires Adobe Reader to view/print.) The included Keyboard Switcher (keyboard driver) allows access to four characters per key (instead of the normal two) and alternate keyboard layouts. The fonts alone (without Keyboard Switcher) will install into Linux, but Linux users must provide alternate keyboard input for characters in the extended character set. These fonts will print to any printer at the highest quality allowed by your printer.

Includes TrueType® and Type-1 fonts, with polished 10, 12, 14, 18, 24 point size bitmaps, available in six typestyles (Times-, Helvetica-, condensed Helvetica-, Palatino-, Garamond-, and Chancery-styles) all in plain, bold, italic and bold-italic (except Chancery is plain only), containing all the characters and diacritics necessary to transliterate Indian languages. TransIndic Transliterator is available in two versions. The Keyboard version is for OS X 10.2 and above. The InduScript® version is for OS 7.1-9.x or Classic mode of OS X. The InduScript scripting system provides phonetic input for transliterating Indian languages. The InduScript Control included in TransIndic Transliterator also provides the same easy-to-type phonetic keyboard arrangement for Hindi, Sanskrit, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Sinhalese, and Telugu (all sold separately).

System Requirements: The font may be typed using the US keyboard, or with an included keyboard resource that installs into OS X 10.2 and above or System 7.1-9.x. (The alternate keyboard does not support OS X 10.0 or 10.1, which do not allow installation of alternate keyboard resources. Owners of OS X 10.0 or 10.1 must use the US keyboard.) The alternate input method uses the InduScript® scripting system, which installs into Classic Mode of OS X and into System 7.1-9.x. (InduScript has been tested in OS X 10.3 Classic Mode.) The product includes a User's Manual, keyboard resource, and keyboard layout charts.
