LaserPashto for Windows

Type Pashto in US Windows! Four TrueType and Type 1 English system Pashto fonts for use in all standard US Windows applications, plus corresponding fonts for Arabic, Persian (Farsi and Dari). Fonts include all characters for the Pashto language. Input is left-to-right (reverse order) for compatibility with US Windows. Does not contextualize letter forms, but Keyboard Switcher Windows utility normally types the medial forms and provides simple, intuitive access to initial, final, and isolated forms of every character. For users of Microsoft Word for Windows we have created a Word template file that includes a right to left macro to allow you to type Pashto as if right to left in the US (English) version of Word for Windows. Simply start a new file using the included template and activate the macro and you will be able to type Pashto right to left, one line at a time, in the US (English) version of Microsoft Word for Windows.

Fonts included are LateefiLSPashto, KitabiLSPashto, NargisiLSPashto, and SarmastLSPashto.

System Requirements: The fonts install into Microsoft® Windows 7, Vista, XP, or 2000, and work with all Windows 7-, Vista-, XP-, and 2000-compatible applications that allow the user to select fonts from a font menu. (A previous version is available for Windows NT, Me, 98, or 95; please contact the Sales office.) The product includes a User's Manual and keyboard layout chart(s). The included keyboard driver(s) allows access to four characters per key (instead of the normal two) and alternate keyboard layouts. All documentation is in PDF format, and can be viewed and/or printed using Adobe Reader. The fonts will print to any printer at the highest quality allowed by your printer.

A custom version (fonts only) is available for Linux, but Linux users must provide alternate keyboard input for characters in the extended character set. If you are ordering for Linux be sure to select the Linux box on the Order Form.

LaserPashto for Macintosh

LaserPashto, English System, for Macintosh

Four Type 1 and TrueType Pashto fonts with four corresponding Arabic, Persian (Farsi and Dari) fonts for use in all standard Macintosh applications. Uses standard Arabic keyboard arrangement. Type as if right to left and allow the Transcribe program (included) to reverse the lines for you. EuroScript Scripting System allows automatic contextualization of characters. Together with Linguist's LaserPashto, Nisus Writer can do right to left text and Pashto line wrap without having to install the resources from the standard Apple Arabic Language Kit. Includes a micro-space key for minute adjustment. (Nisus Writer is required for typing "as if right to left" feature.)

System requirements: The fonts alone work in Mac OS X but must be typed from left to right. In Macintosh System 7.1-9.x or in Classic mode running under OS X text can be entered from right to left using Nisus Writer (but not Nisus Writer Express). Text entered this way can then be exported for use in Mac OS X.

Cost: US$ 99.95, or $70 when purchased with Nisus Writer Order
