Linguist's Software offers generous Educational Site
Licenses for schools, colleges,
universities, and seminaries. We also offer Business Site
Licenses for other persons and
entities. You are welcome to review these licenses and their costs by scrolling
down this page, or you may download Adobe® Acrobat® PDF versions of the
Educational
Site License and the Business
Site License.
Schools, Colleges, Universities, and Seminaries may expand
your authorized use of our products and provide complete
up-to-date product packages for each additional authorized user
or computer at a fraction of the usual cost by purchasing a Site
License. You may also apply a previous purchase made directly
from Linguist's Software toward a Site License.
Applicable to: Educational institutions
purchasing Linguist's Software products directly from Linguist's
Software for use by more than one person or computer. Examples:
Universities, Colleges, Seminaries, High Schools, etc.
Ownership: The software belongs solely to the
purchasing institution. Choose Plan A, B, or C.
Plan A: Licensing a specific number of computers to
use the software: The institution pays a set fee based
on the number of CPUs (Macintosh/IBM-compatible) on which it will
be authorized to use the software. Under this plan use of the
software is restricted to the authorized computers. The License
covers all users on each licensed computer. The software may not
legally be used on any other computers. Copying for use on other
computers is prohibited.
Plan B: Licensing a specific number of authorized
users to use the software: The institution agrees to
keep a list of the names of all authorized users. These and only
these persons are authorized to use the software. A faculty
member leaving one educational institution to join another may
not keep a copy of the software, but the institution may transfer
authorized use of the software to the faculty replacement.
Plan C: Licensing a specific number of copies of the
software for use on any CPU within a single Computer Lab:
First copy full price; second and all copies thereafter half
price.
Benefits: Under the Site Licensing Policy the
purchasing institution receives for each authorized computer or
user the complete program: User's Manual, diskette, large
keyboard layout charts, keyboard stickers, etc. It authorizes
installation of the software into multi-user hard disks or other
data storage systems if all computers with access to the data are
licensed.
Flexibility for expansion: At any time the
purchasing institution can expand its license to other computers
or users by sending Linguist's Software the appropriate
additional fee, plus shipping fee only if a new unit is sent. To
save shipping, copy your disks for each additional license
purchased.
Obtaining Site Licenses for already purchased
software: Linguist's Software will apply money it has
received from an educational institution toward a Site License
for the same number of units of that software. Include a copy of
the original invoice, or list the product(s) with the date and
place of purchase.
Cost: Depends of the number of licensed
computers/users. For Plan A and Plan B Licenses, see the chart
below. For Plan C Licenses, the first copy is full price; second
and all copies thereafter are half price. For Plans A and B the
cost bottoms out at US$15 for $49.95-$79.95 items, $20 for $99.95
items, $25 for $129.95-$149.95 items, $30 for $179.95-$199.95
items, and $35 for $249.95 items.

Upgrades: Twice the single unit upgrade cost.
For example, a major upgrade to a $99.95 product usually costs
$40. Thus, the Site License upgrade cost would be $80 plus
shipping. The upgrade entitles the institution to copy the
upgrade onto all licensed computers.
What we ship: We ship one complete product plus a
complete set of keyboard charts for each computer or authorized user covered
by the license. Shipping is normally one pound. If the product plus
additional keyboard charts weigh more than one pound, an additional shipping
unit is added for each additional pound or portion thereof. You may order
additional complete boxed products at $5 each, up to the total number
covered by the Site License.
All prices are in US$ and are subject to change without
notice.
In the table below, find the column across the top
corresponding to the retail price of the product you wish to
license, and choose the number of licenses you wish to purchase
from the left column. The intersection of those two columns is
the total price of the site license. If you wish to license more
than ten computers, note the figure in the bottom row of the
appropriate column, multiply it times the number of computers
above ten, and add it to the total for ten computers. For
example, to purchase a site license for 12 $49.95 products, note
the figure at the bottom of the $49.95 column (15.00), multiply
it times the number of computers above ten (2 x 15.00 = 30.00),
and add it to the total for ten computers (196.58+30.00=226.58)
to get the cost of the site license for 12 computers.
