This
product is no longer available. The Korean Language Kit is now included in
Macintosh OS 9. You will find it on your OS 9 CD.
Easily add Korean text to your documents.
The Korean Language Kit, from Apple, installs Korean
extensions and Korean fonts into your operating system which then
allows you to enter, edit, and print Korean text in all
WorldScript® II-compatible applications and applications that
have been localized for Korean. You can even work with files
created using HangulTalk, Apple's
Macintosh Korean Operating System. You can also use the Korean
Language Kit to view Korean-language World Wide Web sites with
the addition of Internet browsing software. You may switch
between Korean and the computer's main language at any time. The
Korean Language Kit comes with the Power Input Method, a
feature-rich input method that allows conversion from hangul
to hanja, can display the command menu in English or
Korean, and provides an easy-to-use interface. The kit also
includes two keyboard layouts for native speakers and two romaja
modes for easy Korean input by non-native speakers. Also included
is a set of transparent labels for customizing your keyboard.
Documentation is provided in both English and Korean. These
features make the Korean Language Kit easy to use whether you are
a native speaker or just learning Korean.
Many major software programs, such as Nisus
Writer, are WorldScript-compatible, and allow you to input,
edit, format, and print Korean text along with other languages.
The Korean Language Kit also allows you to run applications that
have been localized for Korean.
The Korean Language Kit includes five QuickDraw GX-compatible,
double-byte, TrueType Korean fonts: AppleMyungjo (serif font),
AppleGothic (sans serif font), Gungseoche (calligraphy font),
Pilgiche (cursive font), and Seoul (system font), which will
produce high-quality output from any Macintosh-compatible
printer. Unlike most other Korean language solutions, the Korean
Language Kit offers full hanja support, including the hanja
Dictionary Utility that allows a user to create a personal hanja
dictionary.
Because the Korean Language Kit works as an extension to
System 7.1 (or newer) and uses the operating system you already
have, your menus and dialog boxes can remain in English (user may
also choose Korean). There is no need to store an additional
system on your hard disk. All you need is the Korean Language
Kit, System 7.1 or newer, and a compatible application.
Note: The Korean Language Kit does not translate text; it lets
you easily input, edit, and print in Korean.
