This
product is no longer available. The Hebrew Language Kit is now included in
Macintosh OS 9. You will find it on your OS 9 CD.
Easily add Hebrew
and Yiddish text processing, with full right to left input, to
your Macintosh.
The Hebrew Language Kit, from Apple, installs Hebrew
extensions and fonts into your operating system which then allows
you to enter, edit, and print Hebrew and Yiddish text in all
WorldScript®-compatible applications. You can switch between
these languages and the computer's main language at any time.
Hebrew and Yiddish can be mixed with left-to-right languages in
the same document - even in the same sentence. The Hebrew
Language Kit features a selection of keyboard layouts optimized
for both native speakers and students, along with transparent
labels for customizing your keyboard.
The Hebrew Language Kit works with most Mac OS-compatible
applications that support right to left text entry, including
multilingual and Hebrew-localized applications. Text created in
one compatible application is transportable to another, and be
transferred to and from the Hebrew operating system (an Israeli
Macintosh). The most popular multilingual word processor is the
Nisus Writer, available from Linguist's Software.
The Hebrew Language Kit includes four Hebrew TrueType fonts
and two bitmap fonts. All include the extra characters for
Yiddish.
Note: The Hebrew Language Kit does not translate text; it lets
you easily input, edit, and print in Hebrew and Yiddish.
