This
product is no longer available. The Chinese Language Kit is now included in
Macintosh OS 9. You will find it on your OS 9 CD.
Easily add Chinese text to your documents.
The Chinese Language Kit, from Apple, installs Chinese extensions and Chinese fonts
into your operating system which then allows you to enter, edit, and print Chinese text in
all WorldScript® II-compatible applications and applications that have been localized for
Chinese. You can switch between Chinese and the computer's main language at any time. The
Chinese Language Kit contains Simplified and Traditional characters, as well as a wide
choice of input methods.
Many major software programs, such as Nisus Writer, are
WorldScript-compatible, and allow you to input, edit, format, and print Chinese text along
with other languages. The Chinese Language Kit also allows you to run applications that
have been localized for Chinese-speaking countries.
The Chinese Language Kit includes two TrueType Chinese fonts, Song (Simplified) and
LiSung Light (Traditional), and four additional fonts on the included CD.
Because the Chinese Language Kit works as an extension to System 7.1 (or newer) and
uses the operating system you already have, your menus and dialog boxes remain in English.
Also, there is no need to store an additional system on your hard disk. All you need is
the Chinese Language Kit, System 7.1 or newer, and a compatible application.
Note: The Chinese Language Kit does not translate text; it lets you easily input, edit,
and print in Chinese.
