Modern computer Operating Systems and applications support new standards called Unicode and OpenType®, which make it possible to easily type the special accents and other diacritics needed for Igbo and many other languages. These standards also make it much easier than before to share electronic documents with others without fear of losing the meaning of your message. Our AfroRoman® in Unicode provides a professional-quality, Unicode-encoded font in TrueType® OpenType format for typing Igbo and more than 1540 other African languages, plus English and other west European (or Latin 1) languages.

If you must work in non-Unicode compatible software, or must remain compatible with those who have older Operating Systems or programs, we have AfroRoman for both Windows and Macintosh computers.

Both AfroRoman and AfroRoman in Unicode are available in five typestyles: Times®-, Helvetica®-, Garamond-, Palatino®-, and Zapf Chancery®-styles.

We also have developed the AfroRoman Converter that will convert AfroRoman text in Word documents to the AfroRoman in Unicode encoding. This makes it possible to create documents in the AfroRoman font and convert them to the AfroRoman in Unicode arrangement. Or, if you receive a document typed in AfroRoman, but you only own the AfroRoman in Unicode product, you can easily convert the document to the AfroRoman in Unicode font in Microsoft Word.
